Brandy Clark took the stage this weekend as one of the opening acts for Alan Jackson’s Keepin’ It Country Tour. Clark, who’s nominated for two Grammy’s this year, is probably best known as a songwriter. However, she proved this weekend that she’s much more. The surprisingly talented vocalist treated the crowd to a few tracks off her debut album 12 Stories and a couple songs she’s penned for other country stars. By opening her set with the revenge driven “Stripes” she set the tone for the remainder of her set. She went solo acoustic for tracks penned for Miranda Lambert (Mama’s Broken Heart) and The Band Perry (Better Dig Two). By stripping things down Clark was able to further showcase her vocals. Clark’s best talent is songwriting and as the lyrics came to life on stage she captivated the crowd.
