Zac Brown Band already has one mega hit out this year. They’re likely to add another one when “Loving You Easy” impacts country radio next week. The track is similar to “Homegrown” in that it brings ZBB back to it’s early days. It’s more mainstream country rather than the fringe country sound heard on either The Grohl Sessions or Uncaged. Sure the latter went platinum, but it didn’t do nearly as well as their debut album The Foundation. As the band continues to grow in popularity it’s nice to see them returning to the sound that earned them so many fans with the songs “Chicken Fried” and “Whatever It Is.” Expect “Loving You Easy” to rise the charts quickly and become one of the songs of the summer. Take a listen:
It’s a slow week in country as Carrie Underwood’s Greatest Hits: Decade #1 album is the only new release. The two disc compilation features her biggest hits as well as two new songs, the Grammy nominated “Something in the Water” and the power ballad “Like Toy Guns.” Additionally, Blake Shelton’s most recent release Bringing Back the Sunshine is now available in video format on iTunes. It features all twelve songs in video format.
This week is highlighted by two new EP’s from up and coming artists. Dallas Smith released his first United States country EP, Lifted, and Kelsea Ballerini released her six track debut self-titled EP. Love and Theft has a new single out this week as well. “Whiskey on my Breath” is likely the second single off of their to be released album. This week also marks the beginning of the holiday season. That means lots of country artists are releasing their own versions of classic holiday tunes.
Coming off big time success with “Ready, Set, Roll” Chase Rice recently released his second radio single off his debut album, Ignite the Night. The new track, titled “Gonna Wanna Tonight,” is somewhat of a change for Rice, 28, as it has a much slower beat to it than his previous single. Despite this subtle change, the rest of the song should sound very familiar lyrically because of its focus on a very common theme in country music nowadays: girls.
This week is highlighted by Maddie & Tae’s debut self-titeld EP. You can read more about the duo here, and check out our review for the four track EP later today! Additionally, The Doobie Brothers released an album featuring guest appearances from a number of country stars including Brad Paisley and Hunter Hayes. The album entitled Southbound is available now. The rest of the country music world is on hiatus due to CMA week and the approach of the holiday season
