Opening for Miranda Lambert on her Certified Platinum Tour, Justin Moore stole the show Friday night at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA. Following a low energy, albeit solid, performance from Pistol Annies member, Ashley Monroe, Moore got the crowd rocking with his blend of twangy vocals, rocking guitars, and powerful stage presence.
For fans who haven’t heard of Cole Taylor, it’s time to take notice. After a long road from his hometown of Cuthbert, Georgia to Nashville, the 23 year old has released a new self titled EP. The EP consists of five songs, all of which were written or co-written by Taylor and previously available to listen to as demos on his website, ColeTaylorLive.com. Despite being a smaller name in the country music industry, the EP currently sits at number 5 on iTunes Top 100 country albums.
We knew going into last night’s Anything Goes Tour stop in Manchester, NH that it was going to be a hell of a night. After snowy weather in Nashville postponed the show from last Wednesday to last night, it was clear just from the walk into the arena how excited the fans were to watch their favorite artists perform. A lineup that featured three of the hottest young stars in country music and the singers of the two most recent number one radio singles offered a night fun of singing, dancing, and screaming.
Jackie Lee is another member of the new crop of country singers that are looking to make a name for themselves in the coming year. A football standout in high school, Lee left the storied Alcoa (TN) Tornadoes program during his junior year to pursue a future in music. Dallas Smith released his third country EP to iTunes today. The highly anticipated release comes on the heels of his debut US single “Wastin’ Gas” and five straight top ten hits in Canada. For Smith Lifted is the culmination of five years of hard work, and it shows. The seven song EP features six new tracks and a live version of the rock heavy hit “Tippin’ Point.”
