Coming off of a sophomore album with the smash hit, “Angel Eyes,” Love and Theft has released their first single off of their upcoming album, Whiskey on My Breath, which is due out on February 10. The track, which shares the same name as the record, is another step forward for the group as they hope to exhibit a more mature and polished sound than on past records.
This week is highlighted by new music from Zac Brown Band. The Grammy Award winning group released the debut single, “Homegrown” off their upcoming LP. Elsewhere, Raelynn released her debut EP entitled Me which features five tracks including her debut single “God Made Girls.” Greg Bates, who’s known for his single “Did it For the Girl” has a new single out this week that’s quite good. The song “Sand” is available for download now and for request on SiriusXM The Highway.
Dallas Smith might be new to country music, but he’s certainly not new to music. After ten years as the lead singer of the rock group Default, Smith transitioned into a country music. The genre was becoming exactly what he loved – lots of guitar based high energy anthems that allowed him to really connect. After making a trip down to Nashville in 2009 with Joey Moi (Producer Florida Georgia Line & Jake Owen), Smith began working on his debut country album.
Since then he has become a staple in Canadian country music with five straight top ten hits. His debut U.S. single “Tippin’ Point” reached the peak position on SiriusXM The Highway Hot 45 countdown and has gone on to sell over a hundred thousand copies worldwide. He recently completed work on his third EP Lifted which hits iTunes tomorrow and includes “Wastin’ Gas” a song that Music Row called “terrifically exciting.”
We caught up with Dallas Smith this week to talk about his shift from rock to country, life on the road with Florida Georgia Line, and of course his new EP Lifted.
Fans of Cole Swindell were treated to a nice little pre holiday treat today with the release of his new EP Down Home Sessions. Five previously unreleased tracks make up the EP and give fans a taste of what’s to come from Swindell in the future. Highlighted by “Ready” and “The Way You’re Lovin’ Me Now,” Swindell is able to show his progression as an artist in just five songs.
Craig Campbell will perform in New England at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill in Foxborough, Massachusetts on Wednesday night. When asked if he’s surprised with the amount of country music fans up North he answered, “I wasn’t surprised. I actually have several friends from up in New England and one friend was always telling me how country music is big and that there’s lots of country fans up your way.”
With two albums, and three top twenty singles under his belt everything was looking up for Craig until his record label suddenly closed back in May of this year. He hasn’t let that stop him though. His most recent single, “Keep Them Kisses Comin'” was the biggest hit of his career and he recently partnered up to fight colon cancer. We caught up with Craig before the show to talk about what’s been a very eventful past twelve months.
