Friday night was the first time any of the writers on this site had seen Michael Ray perform. I think I speak for all of us when I say that we were blown away. His forty minute set flew by and left us and the entire House of Blues wanting more. Nine songs, including a pair of covers, brought the crowd to life and placed him on a small list of artists we can’t wait to see again. Here are the three things we learned in those forty minutes he was on stage.
Kip Moore is currently on the road headlining his 2015 Wild Ones Tour. He’s bringing along Michael Ray for the entirety of the tour plus one special guest that could include the likes of Joey Hyde and DeeJay Silver. When the tour stops in Boston on October 30, it’ll be Hyde, Ray and Moore who take the stage. These are the songs you can look forward to hearing.
Florida’s newest country export, Michael Ray, is the embodiment of hard-work and drive. Born and raised in rural central Florida, Ray has been playing bars since he was a teen and, after a life-changing trip to Nashville, put together a band and began to take over his home state. It’s been a long road for the 26 year old but, after signing with Warner Music Nashville, he has released his debut single, “Kiss You in the Morning.”
