We started our year end recap with a list of the most popular albums released this calendar year. Now it’s time for the hard part – ranking the top ten. The list that follows is comprised of the albums that we find to be the most listenable from start to finish without skipping any tracks. You’ll notice some key absences and some interesting inclusions. These are Country Music North’s top ten albums of 2014:

Brantley Gilbert Excels on his Sophomore Album

Brantley Gilbert’s new album, ‘Just As I Am’ was released digitally Monday. Prior to the release he had a message, “My fans know I’m a straight shooter so I didn’t leave anything out. I think there is something for everyone – from my party side to the gentler stuff.” Artists often make promises about upcoming releases, but few come through the way Gilbert does on this album .
