Zac Brown Band already has one mega hit out this year. They’re likely to add another one when “Loving You Easy” impacts country radio next week. The track is similar to “Homegrown” in that it brings ZBB back to it’s early days. It’s more mainstream country rather than the fringe country sound heard on either The Grohl Sessions or Uncaged. Sure the latter went platinum, but it didn’t do nearly as well as their debut album The Foundation. As the band continues to grow in popularity it’s nice to see them returning to the sound that earned them so many fans with the songs “Chicken Fried” and “Whatever It Is.” Expect “Loving You Easy” to rise the charts quickly and become one of the songs of the summer. Take a listen:
Tyler Farr is somewhat of an outlier in country music. His gravelly voice wouldn’t suggest it, but the Missouri native is a classically trained opera singer who spent his senior year of high school singing tenor in Missouri’s All-State chorus. His first single, “Hot Mess,” had virtually no success despite being cowritten by Rhett Akins, while “Redneck Crazy” was almost universally disliked by critics before becoming his breakout hit. All in all it has been an unlikely rise for Farr who today released his sophomore album, Suffer in Peace.
For fans who haven’t heard of Cole Taylor, it’s time to take notice. After a long road from his hometown of Cuthbert, Georgia to Nashville, the 23 year old has released a new self titled EP. The EP consists of five songs, all of which were written or co-written by Taylor and previously available to listen to as demos on his website, ColeTaylorLive.com. Despite being a smaller name in the country music industry, the EP currently sits at number 5 on iTunes Top 100 country albums.
At just nineteen years old Alyssa Trahan is doing everything she can to make her dreams a reality. After performing over a hundred dates in 2014, she knew it was time for new music at the beginning of 2015. The Rochester, NY native has already self-released a full length record entitled Hi, and last week released a new EP. The five track Wild & Crazy showcases Trahan’s talent as a singer songwriter.
If you were to have bought Chris Young’s third album when it was released in 2013, then you might have already known about the masterpiece that is Lonely Eyes. For those of you who didn’t, well then you have been missing out for the better part of a year and a half. Lonely Eyes is one of the best, if not the best, song on the album, which is impressive considering hits like “Aw Naw” and “Who I Am With You” were also included on the record.
