Taylor Swift released her fifth studio album late last night. The album entitled 1989 is by no means country, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t good. Instead, it just means we aren’t going to review it, but rather explain why it still has a huge impact on the country music industry.
October 21st is highlighted by the release of Little Big Town’s new album Pain Killer. However, that wasn’t the only new country music released today Gloriana released a new single entitled “Trouble.” It’s the track they opened their live sets with for most of the summer. Billy Currington released a new single entitled “Don’t It,” the same can be said for James Otto who has a new look to go along with his new song “Somewhere Tonight.” Chuck Wicks “Saturday Afternoon” and Steve Azar “Fly” finish off the new music, as both have new singles. On a pop-country, but more pop side of things Taylor Swift released another new track entitled “Welcome to New York” off of her upcoming album 1989 due out next weekend.
It’s almost the weekend, that means it’s almost time to see some live country music. This weekend there are three acts that will bring their live shows to the region. Dustin Lynch will perform in front of a sold out crowd at The Charlie Horse in West Bridgewater, MA on Thursday night. It’s Lynch’s first stop to the Northeast in a few months. On Friday night, Royale in Boston will welcome Love & Theft and Joel Crouse. It’s the first stop of Love & Theft’s Night That You’ll Never Forget Tour, so they’ll be sure to put on a hell of a show. You can still grab tickets to the event here, and note the early 6 PM start time. Saturday night features two options, Love & Theft will bring their tour to the campus of Fairfield University and Thompson Square will headline the sold out KIX 100.9 Hatfield Bonfire in Hatfield, MA.
