It’s been a good week for Kenny Chesney. You could extend that to a good past three months. From the release of his highly anticipated album The Big Revival, to the announcement of his 2015 mega-tour, to this week which earned him the first ever Groundbreaker Award at the American Country Countdown Awards and Rolling Stone Country’s ‘Single of Year.’ For Chesney 2014 turned from a year outside the spotlight to one where he found himself planted right in the center of it.
The American Country Countdown Awards wrapped up last night drawing 3.39 million viewers and plenty of chatter on Twitter. The event, hosted by the boys of Florida Georgia Line, honored the most popular artists of 2014. Here’s who took home the awards:

Tomorrow night CMT will air their annual Artists of the Year special to highlight the top five artists in country music over the past year. The hour and a half show will be hosted by southern funny man Larry the Cable Guy. This year’s honorees include Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, and Miranda Lambert. Each honoree will perform one of their biggest songs of the year and be honored for their acheivements over the past year. This is the perfect way to end the year for Aldean who failed to win an award at the CMA Awards this year despite having the second best first week sales of an album this year.
