Who is Chris Lane? You may know him his debut solo single “Broken Windshield View” or from our interview last year. But chances are you’ve never heard of the thirty year old from North Carolina. That’s likely to change in the next couple of months.
Chris Lane released the lead single off his debut EP today. Titled “Fix” it’s the perfect track for Lane to introduce himself to the country music community. It’s produced like a Florida Georgia Line track (more on that in a sec) yet differs just enough to give Chris his own unique sound. His noticeably higher pitched voice allows him to stand out against a backdrop of similar sounding artists. And adding female background vocals throughout help bolster the song’s depth and take it to another level.
As we mentioned a year ago, the main reason Chris Lane is likely destined for stardom is because of his team. Lane worked with superstar producer Joey Moi (FGL and Jake Owen) to create the pop rock infused sound you hear on “Fix.” A strong back beat and steady guitar riffs create the perfect rhythm for cranking it up and dancing your heart out. Something that Lane is hoping you do as he tours the country on the Hell Of A Night Tour in front of Dustin Lynch. You can beg and plead your local station to play “Fix” anytime after today, but chances are you won’t be hearing it nation wide until it’s radio add date of December 7.
You can check out Chris Lane with Dustin Lynch at The Dome at the Toyota Oakdale Pavilion in Wallingford, CT on December 10 or at House of Blues Boston on February 11. For a complete list of concerts in New England check out our concerts page!
