Carrie, Carrie, Carrie. Sweet Carrie. First and foremost, thank you for coming to Boston. It might not be the most convenient geographically, but it’s the biggest indoor venue in the region and the only one that makes sense for her 2016 Storyteller Tour. Bringing along Easton Corbin (big fan) and The Swon Brothers (bigger fan) takes this night from good to great – honestly the most excited I’ve been for a show in about a year. Between her sweet vocals, killer new set of music, and those legs how could I not be excited.
That’s the good, now for the bad. Not sure if this is just a sick trick, but playing Boston on a Tuesday night is pure lunacy for a couple reasons. First and foremost, traffic. Name a city in New England that’s harder to get around in rush hour – you can’t. Also hard to think of a worse night for a concert. The weekends are ideal, Thursdays just force you to skip worse on the Friday – but Tuesdays, come on. Nobody likes hump day to begin with, but hump day after getting down with two hours of the best female vocalist in country, misery. Now I know that the Celtics and Bruins probably have some home games around that time, but if Garth could play four straight weekend nights, I’m completely confident Carrie could have found one.
Anyways, tickets for Carrie Underwood’s Storyteller Tour: Stories in the Round with Easton Corbin and The Swon Brothers on February 23 go on sale next Friday on Ticketmaster. Those of you who bought her new album off her website will be receiving a special pre-sale code in the next 24 hours if you haven’t already.
