If you needed any more proof that country music is the most popular genre in America right now, this is it. The second annual iHeart Radio Country Festival has revealed it’s lineup and it’s plans for multi-channel broadcasting. The event which will be hosted by radio personality Bobby Bones is set for May 2 at the Frank Erwin Center on the campus of UT-Austin.
Last year the show boasted acts ranging from Eric Church, to Carrie Underwood, and down to Luke Bryan. This time around Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley and more will take the stage (full lineup below). The day long event will boast over ten acts playing a variety of lengths. If you’re unable to score tickets to this star studded event, or more likely unable to get yourself to Austin on a Saturday night in the middle of May you’re not out of luck.
Why? Because iHeartRadio country stations across America have decided to pick up the show and broadcast it live in their local markets. That means fans from Seattle to Boston will be able to hear Tyler Farr sing about “a guy walking into a bar”, or Tim McGraw preach about what’s “overrated”, and even listen to Little Big Town rant about their “girl crush.” If listenings not enough, you’re not out of luck either because a film crew will be on hand to capture all of the must see moments. They’re put together a highlight film for America’s viewing pleasure which will be broadcasted on NBC from 9-11 EST on May 27.
