‘Sun Daze’ Goes Number One for FGL

Country’s hottest duo scored another number one this week. Their second radio single, “Sun Daze,” off their sophomore album Anything Goes reached the top spot on both the Mediabase and Billboard Country Airplay charts. It’s a track that continues to push the boundaries of pop country and one that’s received mixed reviews. Some are hesitant to praise a song that seems to revolve solely around getting high and drinking beers, while others continue to push FGL as the future of country. Whatever your take, there’s no denying their success.

“We are real proud of ‘Sun Daze’ because that song came about so late in the game. It was one of the last ballpark tour dates we did with Nelly, but we were still finishing up the album and inspired to write that day,” shares Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley. “We thought we pretty much had every song we wanted but this one definitely kicked one of the songs off. It shows that right down to the wire you need to keep writing and stay in your creative zone. We knew we had something special.”

The duo is currently on the road for their first headlining tour. They’ll make stops across the United States as well as playing some exclusive clubs overseas. They’ll perform at Mohegan Sun on Saturday and the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH on Monday. The tour comes back around in May when they’ll perform at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, RI. And finally, they’ll perform on consecutive nights on September 11 and 12 at the Xfinity Theatre in Hartford, CT and the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA.
