Recapping a Busy Day in Country Music

Today was a very busy day in country music. Three major artists announced their summer tours, one Grammy winning group released a new single, and couple others released new ones to radio. Here’s what you may have missed today:

Summer Tours

Tim McGraw announced his Shotgun Rider Tour for this summer and it just might be the more expansive tour of 2015. He’ll stop in over thirty cities over the summer in what’s sure to be a hell of a ride. As if that wasn’t good enough news he also announced that he’s bringing along platinum selling artist Billy Currington and Chase Bryant.

Dierks Bentley announced his Sounds of Summer Tour with some pretty impressive openers. He’ll grab Kip Moore, Maddie & Tae, and Canaan Smith for his summer dates.

Eric Church feels bad about missing some major markets during the first leg of his Outsiders World Tour so today he announced he’s extending the tour. The second leg of the tour will visit any of the big markets missed the first time around as well as return to some of his most popular cities. Opening acts for the tour will vary.

New Music

Zac Brown Band released the debut single off their upcoming studio album to radio and iTunes this morning. The track entitled “Homegrown” was added to major market radio stations today and will continue to be added to other stations throughout the month.

Kip Moore released “I’m to Blame” to radio today, effectively ending the speculation of when he’d released new music. The track will be off of his soon to be released sophomore project. Fans will be able to download the track on iTunes on February 2nd.

Tim McGraw is working on a string on big hits, and today he announced which track may be his next. “Diamond Rings and Old Barstools” will be the next single released to country radio for McGraw. The track should take McGraw right into the summer when he’ll likely release a fourth single off Sundown Heaven Town.
