Five Artists to Watch in 2015

2014 is in the books and it’s time to start focusing on the artists that we think will be making names for themselves this year. In 2014 it was Chase Rice and Sam Hunt who caused country fans to fall in love with their party friendly jams. As we look forward and try to predict who we think will burst into the spotlight we’ve highlighted five artists to watch in 2015.

Jordan Rager

As a contestant on The Voice in 2012, Jordan Rager gained some notoriety as a young kid from Georgia. Two years later he signed his first record deal with Broken Bow Records and a publishing deal with Blue Chrome Key. With the deals in place you can expect the twenty year old Rager to burst on the scene this year. He’s already working on his debut album with producer Jeremy Stover (Justin Moore) and is expected to hit the road as a part of a mid level tour in the summer. Given his youth, we expect Rager to quickly become a household name in country music. Our favorite track is his duet with Justin Moore entitled, “Southern Boy.”

Chase Bryant

Bryant is already well respected within the industry because of his songwriting and guitar abilities. It’s these advantages that set him apart from other young artists. From one listen of his debut self-titled EP it becomes clear that he knows how to connect with the listener. His debut single “Take It On Back” starts 2015 sitting inside the top 10 and climbing. We talked with Bryant about his debut LP and he told us, “I think you’ll dig it. You can live vicariously through it. It’s an autobiography of my career.” The slow paced love song “Change Your Name” is likely his best work to date.

Kelsea Ballerini

Similar to Bryant, Ballerini has already released an EP and has a song sitting inside the top 40 at the beginning of 2015. Her debut single, “Love Me Like You Mean It” is as catchy as a Taylor Swift tune, yet remains deep enough to connect with an older audience. At just 22 years old, Ballerini has plenty of name to make a mane for herself, but we don’t expect it to take long. She wrapped up a whirlwind radio tour at the end of 2014, and her fans can expect to see her on a tour come summertime. Check out her debut single!

Old Dominion

A month ago these guys might have missed the cut, but with the news that they’ll be joining Kenny Chesney on tour this summer it was impossible to leave them off the list. They recently grabbed their second number single with “Break Up With Him” on SiriusXM The Highway and their debut EP was well received around Nashville. The five member group are more than just a band – they’re also talented songwriters having penned songs for The Band Perry, Luke Bryan, and soon to be tour-mate Kenny Chesney. You can expect them to release their debut full length album in the first half of 2015 and when they do be sure to check out “Nowhere Fast,” it’s our favorite track.

Chris Lane

Chris Lane has the luxury of working with the hottest producer in country music. Something that none of these other artists have, which helped him earn the final spot on the list. If you think his debut single, “Broken Windshield View” sounds like a Florida Georgia Line cut, that’s because it does. Lane’s debut EP is expected within the coming months and was produced by Joey Moi (FGL and Jake Owen). As Lane moves forward with his career in 2015, he’ll have the experience of working with this critically acclaimed producer as well as live experience thanks to his opening slot on Jerrod Niemann’s Buzz Back Tour. Check out the video for his debut single!
